Product Iteration Framework

Your first product version won't be perfect. Here's how to iterate based on real customer data.

3-Stage Iteration Cycle

V1: MVP

Weeks 1-2

Test: Does anyone want this?

KPI: 1-5 orders OR 10+ add-to-carts (enough signal to continue testing)

Max spend: ₹5,000-10,000

V2: Improved

Weeks 3-4

Test: Will people come back?

KPI: Repeat purchase rate > 10%

Changes: Packaging, copy, pricing

V3: Optimized

Weeks 5-8

Test: Is this profitable?

KPI: CVR >2%, Positive unit economics

Scale: Increase ad spend

What to Fix When

Low CTR (< 1.5%)

Your ad or landing page isn't pulling people in. Test: product angle, headline, hero image, or audience targeting.

Low Add-to-Cart (< 5%)

Visitors are interested but not committed. Test: price point, product images, description clarity, or trust signals (reviews, COD).

High Checkout Abandonment (> 60%)

People want to buy but drop off. Test: simplify checkout steps, add COD option, show shipping cost upfront, add trust badges.

High RTO (> 35%)

Orders are coming but not delivering. Test: COD confirmation calls, WhatsApp verification, improve product listing accuracy, or push prepaid discounts.

Low Repeat Rate (< 10% at 60 days)

Customers buy once but don't return. Test: post-purchase WhatsApp/email flow, bundle offers, loyalty points, or product quality.

Negative Reviews (> 15%)

Product-market fit issue. Test: product quality, packaging, description accuracy, or supplier change.

Iteration Rule: Don't spend more than 2 weeks on any single version. Speed matters more than perfection in the early stages. Ship → Measure → Improve → Repeat.
